Important Training for Dock Installers and other Lake Professionals



We all want our dock installer to know how to avoid bringing invasive species to our own waterfronts!

Make sure your installer has been recently trained!

Here is how:

The installer will be contacted and offered the opportunity to take a free class in early April 2010. Details of the class may be found below.

Again in APRIL 2010, several cooperating groups including WAPOA will be offering update classes to professional lake waterfront workers, including dock installers.

In September 2009 the following lakes in Crow Wing County had Eurasian water milfoil: Bay, Kimball, Lower Mission, Ossawinnamakee, Ruth and Upper Mission. Ripple River between Bay and Tame Fish lakes is infested.


In September 2009 the following lakes in Crow Wing County had  zebra mussels: Black Bear, Boom, Half-Moon, Little Rabbit, Miller, Ossawinnamakee, Pickerel and Rice.  Pine River from the mouth of Pelican Brook to the Mississippi River.


Lake installers learn the latest techniques to avoid bringing invasive species to your lakefront.

Update classes are given by DNR experts and are sponsored by WAPOA and other area organizations, organized as BLASTIF.
