Whitefish Chain--Lower Hay lake--ice is out very early
The picture above is taken from Steve Curry's webcam which can be accessed by clicking on the left green box above.

The ice went out Friday evening April 2, 2010.
This is the earliest ice-out date we have. (Our records begin in 1966.)
 
The winds came up after 8:00 PM and everything went out.
The next earliest ice-out date was April 7, 1998.
The latest ice-out date was May 25, 1989.

 Mission of Whitefish Area Property Owners Association

To promote environmental stewardship throughout the Whitefish area and the Pine River Watershed.

The membership shall work with area environmental groups, lake and resort associations, agencies and local units of government to preserve and improve the quality of our water, land, air, aesthetics, wildlife and other natural resources for present and future generations.
