Septic System Care Workshops

Three Septic System Care Workshops are scheduled for residents of Lake Zumbro and the city of Oronoco.  Participants will learn how their septic system works, how to properly operate and maintain their system, and how to avoid freezing problems.  The workshops are free and will be taught by University of Minnesota Extension Educator, Doug Malchow.  No pre-registration is required. 

The workshops will be held:

7:00 PM, Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the Oronoco Community Center

7:00PM, Monday, April 19, 2010 at the Oronoco Community Center

11:00AM, Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Grandpa Ed’s Bar & Grill on Lake Zumbro

August 27 (Thursday) at Grandpa Eds - 7 p.m.

The petition for the Lake Improvement District (LID) has arrived.  You may recall at the Spring meeting that this is the next step towards our dredging project.  Every effort needs to be taken to assure that every person owning lake property within the LID has been made aware of this petition.

Your LZIA board and the restoration team have decided to handle this effort with a two fold plan.  First, we will be sending out a ground force comprising of area reps, along with members of the restoration team and other volunteers to solicit your signatures.  The second step is to hold a special LZIA meeting scheduled for August 27 (Thursday) at Grandpa Eds - 7 p.m.  There will be a short presentation followed by a question and answer period.  There will not be any other business discussed, just the dredging project.  Please make all efforts to attend and tell your neighbors to attend also.
