Here in Pine County we are priviledged to have the North West Company Fur Post, an historic site managed by the Minnnesota State Historical Society.  From the late 1600s until Minnesota became a territory in 1849, commerce was booming in the area.   The fur trade brought American Indians, the French and the British together to exchange goods.

This summer, take family and visiting friends to the Fur Post and experience the excitement and challenges of early Minnesota life firsthand at this reconstructed wintering post on the Snake River 1.5 miles West of Pine City on Co. Hwy 7.
